THE NANNUP ALPINE RESORT SUSTAINABILITY FEATURES
Sustainability is important in the development and operation of the Nannup Alpine Resort.
The Resort will be carbon neutral through various innovations including producing its own electricity and capturing rainwater.
The restaurant and café will grow a lot of its own produce as well as sourcing products from the local region.
EMBRACING LOCAL ABORIGINAL CULTURE
“The Time Watcher’s Stories” By Aidan Smith
IDG acknowledges the Wardandi and Bibbulmun people as the Traditional Owners of the land that the Nannup Alpine Resort will occupy. We pay respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging, of the Wardandi & Bibbulmun people and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait people in Australia.
IDG (and the Nannup Alpine Resort) will work with Traditional Owners to offer a range of Indigenous tourism experiences, which could include dreamtime storytelling, star gazing, bush tucker tours, among others.
IDG wishes to embrace the local Aboriginal culture through featuring cultural tourism as a unique experience for guests as well as a mechanism to engage with local Traditional Owners and provide employment opportunities through leveraging their traditional knowledge.
